I don't think there is anything else you really need to know. You can just tweek them to suit yourselves.
Leave the skins on, cut into wedges, season with black pepper, drizzle with oil and cook in the oven.

I make home made oven chips all the time. prepare your potatoes (chips or wedges) then:
1. (optional) spread on microwave turntable and cook on high for 4-5 mins.
2. Place in roasting tin/baking tray and drizzle 1 tbsp oil over (any)
3. Sprinkle with a little paprika.
4. Cook in pre-heated oven 180-200 deg fro approx 25 mins
Enjoy!0 -
i dont make them now but when i did i chipped them, rinsed them dried them and put in chip pan, watch when you put them in hot oil as the oil will bubble up so dont overfill, cook halfway and lift out heat the oil up a bit and plunge them in again to crisp them up, then drain on kitchen towel0

Peel potatoes and slice into chips. Par boil for aprox 5-10 mins until beginning to soften. Spray with fry light and place on a baking sheet also sprayed in fry light. Place in preheated hot over (220 or higher) for approx 20-30 mins of until crispened. The nicest chips ever!!
I have to agree they even beat the local chippie chips LOL:T0 -
Forgot to say if you don't pre-microwave the potatoes then you will need to increase length of time in the oven.::o0

That’s not very nice, she was only asking for help, just because you know how to do something it doesn't mean everyone will. Some people don't know how to cook from scratch with the availability of take aways and ready meals. This is supposed to be an old style board where people try to do things from scratch and they shouldn't be laughed at or ridiculed when asking for help.0 -

Thanks Cliffsgirl for sticking up for me. Andybez if you'd asked for clarification I would have said that I meant oven chips (I did also mention the oven in my oriinal post) and apologised for not being clear! I'm not a divvy, I can cook and I very much take offense that you assume I'm asking for anything more than assistance to get things right. Thankfully other people on here can work out what I meant. Having said all that you have apologised for being harsh which I appreicate, so thank you for your apology :-)
Thanks Honey for your recipe I'll have a bash at that one, and thanks for everyone elses I'll work my way through them!Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0
