does your school have an after school / breakfast club - ours have recently said in the newsletter they would be really grateful for donations of old (still usable) or not played with toys0

I give everything good to oxfam and they are glad of it0

We sometimes give stuff to the children's library as they have toys out for children to play with, and the GP surgery always needs new toys. We give other bits to friends with younger children, others to charity shops, junk goes in the bin and a very occasional favourite gets kept in the loft space.
We do NOT keep anything for a rainy day any more after we realised we had a whole room we couldn't use because it was full of stuff. Ridiculous!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Freecycle is very OS because although you are not getting cash in hand for the items you are saving the expense of having them transported to landfill, which we all have to pay somewhere along the line; I always think that part of OS is getting the most and best use out of everything for the least output of money. Free cycle means that you do not even have to pay for the car fuel to take items to the charity shop!
Plus your daughter learns that there are other choices apart from store or throw away; I have always found that the people who use Free Cycle are very nice, and it is really lovely to see an unwanted item appreciated.0
