I don't mean to steal D&DD's thunder but have a look at this thread for ideas that will work with D&DD's braid dough ;)
  • Sorry if wrong place, please move if needed

can anyone help that has made the apple braid from the breadmaking recipes please - do I need to leave the dough to rise after I have made it or do I roll it out straight away and fill with the apples?

    TIA

Let it rise, it will be really soft and squidgy, not like normal dough which is a bit tougher! Then just roll out gently and fill with the apple mix and braid and bake. I find it easier to make a couple of braids from the mix (I use D&DD's recipe), as I find one tends to be huge, whilst two fit nicely in the oven, and if I'm luck I can spirit one away pre-icing and freeze it if the kids don't spot what I'm doing!

  • About a year ago I got a recipe from here for an apple bread that your plaited and it had sultanas inside and you then drizzled with runny icing - I have just tried to search for it ( I tried apple bread, complete breadmaking, apple plait) I cant find it, would anyone know what I am talking about and please point me in the right direction?
    TIA x
