Ooh TNG - dunno where you are but I hope not! Its the first ever time I've been successful at getting anything and I'm so pleased. Have you tried asking for one on Freecycle?

I don't think it was. Just thought it was a coincidence that I missed one a few days ago, then I saw this thread

I might ask for one, but not sure how Mrs T will feel about ANOTHER kitchen gadget :o In the last 18 months (and thanks to guess which forum  ) I have got a slow cooker, breadmaker, juicer, grilling machine etc etc. The up side is I will be putting my deep fat fryer on freecycle soon - as I never use it anymore :D

TBH you sound so pleased to get it, I wouldn't mind if it was the same one, so don't feel guilty ;)

Quick update - picked up Kenwood yesterday from a very nice elderly couple. It has all 3 attachments. Unfortunately when I turned it on it gave off a bit of a burning smell and this didn't go away:(. It was empty at the time. Is there anything I can do?

My mum's is about 30 years old and gives a slightly funny metallic smell when it was on and this is due to the age. Are you 100% sure it was a burning smell and not the metallic smell.

Also, if its a really old model, you might be able to get it serviced by somebody like an old style hoover repair man who does kitchen stuff.

Good luck you.... I love mine. I bought it off ebay for £57inc postage and I thought I did well. It has paid for itself in breadmaking.

I think the idea of getting it serviced is a good idea and I will pursue it myself.
