'New customers only'- Halifax
Options

Just phoned up the Halifax to find out about a 4.79% rate and was told it was for 'new customers only'. I am already with them but was interested in remortgaging to the lower rate-so much for looking after their existing customers! Does anyone know of a lender with has a better rate or have any suggestions?

You can tailor your search and, using the filters, narrow the results to 2 or 3 worth investigating further.0 -

Going to go into the branch and have one last desperate ditch attempt for that lower interest rate.If not i will change to a more sympathetic lender. Didn't realise they were as bad too existing customers!! Ripp-off merchants0

Don't ask for a pen either as they're for brand new customers only!
There is nothing wrong with playing them at their own game.
I too left Halifax many years ago and would go back to them at a time that they were prepared to lend me the money I currently owe, if they were the bast lender for me at the time.
I would then have no hesitation in leaving them when the rate is not the most appropriate.
Lenders aren't there to be cuddly and fluffy.
They are there to make money for themselves and their shareholders. They are not going to be loyal to you, so don't be loyal to them.
Use them for what you want then dump them and don't feel bad about doing it. You are just a number and not a person to them.
