A big thank you to sammy_kaye18 for the recipe .... we had it for tea and it was yummy, the sauce was a sort of cross between carbonara and the white wine one you get with mussels. Probably one for me and the hubby cos althought the kids ate it they much prefered Jamie's spinach and mascapone pasta sauce.
Thanks also to Thriftlady for the cheaper alternatives suggestions. We actually used Tesco's Finest Proscuitto as I bought quite a few packs when they had the £2.00 glitch, but thin cut bacon would do just as well. I also liked the tip about vermouth as I always have a bottle of that open as that is mum's favourite tipple, however tonight I used wine as we were given a box for Xmas and it was open anyway .... and I'm enjoying a glass as we speak :beer:0
