Individual pie dishes, which work best?

Options
I would like to make a batch of individual pies to put in the freezer. I don't have anything in my cupboards that I think would be suitable either too deep or shallow, so I need to buy some, I think.

I have had a quick look through the lakeland cattalogye and nothing lept at me.

What would pie makers recommend to use? I plan on doing roast chicken and steak, so that my 10 year old who loves a yukki Pukka pies can be converted!

Many thanks

I was looking through a cookery book yesterday which suggested making individual little pot pies in muffin tins. The pic showed some very tall little pies but they did look good. Otherwise, I have known people to use Yorkshire pudding trays to make more shallow ones with a wider diameter. Hope this helps.

Wilkinsons sell the individual size foil pie dishes and I have seen small oven proof dishes in there too.

I use these ones as they are a really good size for an individual pie. I get mine from the local Chandlers

I got THESE from eBay recently & they're really nice & solid & a lovely pleasing shape

they look expensive, but you get reduced P&P when you buy more than one item & of course they're indefinitely re-usable :)

Swan they are just what I had in mind. :T

I have ordered the last 3!.. I have also asked for the postage to be looked at as charging £1.55 each to send and a discount of only 50p came up at checkout.

I think I will also look out for some foil tins as well to have.

    Many thanks everyone.

glad you like them, I got 5 & they worked out at just under £2 each, but I think they're worth it as they're really nice & sturdy (cute too:D)
btw, they come from the far East, which is probably why the postal discount isn't huge

they might have more tins if you want them, I noticed that right after I bought the 5, another 5 were listed almost immediately

I have been searching high and low for a set of oval individual pie dishes.

I did have a set many moons ago and have no idea where they went.

I have tried Amazon, Argos and Robert Dyas and can't find any.

I don't want to spend a huge amount. But does anyone have any idea where I can get some from.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yours

    Calley

http://www.lakeland.co.uk/traditional-enamel-16cm-oblong-pie-dish/F/keyword/enamel+pie+dish/product/13249 these are oblong, but I think they'd be about the right size - there is something nice about enamelware.
  • They usually have them in Matalan - or Sainsbury's
