Ha'way hbslc's DFW Diary

Some of you will already know me. So here's an update on my DFW plan.

House renovations nearing completion. Got 4 people working on it. A swedish couple are moving in 10 days for 12 months. Guerilla Financed £5-10k spend to get it ready. Not a finished project but habitable. Heating, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc done! I can't believe it.

Company plans progressing. Removed expensive admin subcontractors & replaced with 1st employee. Saving £200pm! Office established. Ready for big push after house completed.

Seperation progressing though slowly. Partner refuses to discuss & isn't representing herself in court. So sheriff (Scottish Law) representing her. Planning to evict her from my other house & flog it. Custody battle in the background for now.

Debts: Priority Debts sorted. Most arrears being handled. Non-Priority creditors all unhappy & shouting louder & louder. See my other post! It's about buying time coz letting my house saves me approx £750 a month to play with.

More news soon.
Debts at 02/02/20: c£225,000 inc CCs of <£1000 repaid in full monthly
Debts at 14/07/10: £278,091 inc £24k unenforceable and £16k consumer debt. But House no longer derelict!!!
LBM: 14/08/07; Debt at LBM: £287131 inc CCs: £37,202.55;

It sounds as though you are making some progress with it all. I haven't read your original thread, sorry :o but good luck with your plans and hope your company does well.

An update! 2008 should be good.

In Jan i got my house tenanted for 9 months, my 1st ever employee started, and my company won its largest transcription project to date! Fantastic!

However, none of this is plain sailing - still owe builders & people about £2k and creditors got really stroppy. But i'm saving £800 a month for 9 months, and here's an update:

MBNA: £75 a month Agreement for 10 years. Interest & Charges frozen.

C1: Have paid £112.50 this month but no agreement in place yet.

EGG: Threatened CCJ so asked for original credit agreement on 4th Jan. No reply to date.

    Smile Overdraft: Awaiting agreement acceptance.

    Everything else okay.

An update for myself really - but its good to share.

    Builders - £850.
    MBNA - Happy.
C1 - DCA chasing despite no notice of assignment, CCA letter 1 sent.
EGG - CCA letter sent 04/01/08, response has defaulted, no CCA yet.
Smile O/D - DCA letter arrived asking for agreement to be made. But i'm not convinced its enforceable as CCA never returned from Aug 07 requiest.

How do you guys find the time to manage creditors? What motivates you? How do you keep track of everything that happens?

An update seeing as i disappeared for a while.

Being a self employed consultant I have to juggle assignments & keep money aside for rainy days when there's no money coming in. Currently in a prolonged rainy season between assignments.

Well house got done, tenants moved in, a few things had to be finished around them. All guerilla finance paid off. Being homeless, mainly crashing with parents or company expensed B&Bs, isn't too bad as my monthly commitments are minimal.

Seperation matters have slowed to a halt. The sheriff in scotland has given me permission to sell the house my ex lives in - but it's difficult enough to sell a house at the moment without an unhappy / unwilling resident.

    More soon...
