When to make affordability complaints in the DMP process

I have just stopped paying this month. Do I need to wait for the accounts to default or should I get on with it before that?

Thx

As soon as possible, as time limits apply to complaints, you usually have 6 years to make a complaint, but obviously the earlier you do so the better.

    Response from Tesco:

Based on the information you've provided, we have placed a temporary block on your card to prevent any further spending while we review your complaint.

To help us complete our investigation, please provide the following:

Three months of current account bank statements prior to your application in 2019 , and prior to each of your credit limit increases. These should clearly show your income and general expenditure. If you use multiple accounts, please provide statements for all relevant accounts.

Confirmation of your housing costs at each of these points in time . This should include your contribution towards rent or your mortgage, if applicable.

I don't have bank statements prior to 2019 … unsure how to respond to this now.

They've also asked for 3 months bank statements prior to any credit increase which I can provide as I have those but not sure if there is any point if I don't have the original ones?

This is regarding a tesco CC which I didn't put an affordability complaint in for - I only did the tesco loan. So now wondering whether they're looking at them both together.

Shall I just send the statements that I have?

I think it has been mostly on 0% (I really can’t be sure) so that is why I didn’t include it and wasn’t sure whether to, following the advice on debt camel.

I’m not sure what to say to Tesco. If I ignore this request they might reject the loan complaint? I included all relevant bank statement for the loan

Just send what you have and see what they say, if they reject the complaint then escalate it to the FOS. I've made a number of affordability complaints and they were all rejected by the original lender and a few were upheld by the FOS after I escalated them.

You have to complain within 6 years of the event happening or within 2 years of becoming aware you could complain, it's more difficult to argue the latter but with one of my complaints the FOS did accept my argument (as I'd made a number of other complaints at the same time)
