    Presumably all the payments are for exactly the same amount, as otherwise you could check the amounts shown on your payslip against those shown on the pension provider's list. And you have some idea which payment corresponds to which payslip by the dates. A gap in a regular sequence of dates might indicate missing payments.

    You say that you believe the company is now correcting the problem, so if you can get another statement from the provider that should confirm that the company has indeed caught up. And maybe you can ask the provider to include the missing identifying information if they do have it? I'd have thought your company would also be able to tell you what actually happened and is happening, if they want to avoid being referred to higher powers.
