    I don't mind putting in a bit of effort if it brings some rewards. I swapped £13 of Tesco points for £39 of Prezzo vouchers at the weekend. I'd rather have £39 reward than £13.

    The most important thing about loyalty schemes is that if you shop in a store with a loyalty scheme is that you use it otherwise you are the one paying for others to use it. Someone has to & it won't be the store.

  • For anyone with O2:

    An app called Airtime Rewards. You earn cash back from various places that you can use to reduce your bill. Really easy to set up and minimal upkeep, just shop as usual and reap the rewards.

    I used to like M&S Sparks but since the end of last year it's been rubbish for me, it's my birthday month and they've given me the choice of two free items one of which isn't even stocked in my usual store.

    I like Nectar and My Waitrose and sometimes Tesco clubcard but increasingly I find offers are for things I don't eat like meat and fish and there seems to be no effort to offer things I'd actually want. Sainsbury's are for ever offering me money off something I bought three months worth of the previous week and the voucher has a very short expiry date which is really annoying.

    Locally my walking group often goes to a local cafe run by Syrian refugees where we get a free coffee for every ten we buy so for a group of 12 or more this is very good value.

    I like Lidl because their offers are customised to me and what I buy.

    I'm FTB, not an expert, all my comments are from personal experience and not a professional advice.

    Calling them a favourite is a bit of an overstretch, consider LIDL, I just scan that to get whatever deal is available that I have tried to purchase.

    I would not buy anything at Tesco unless it was reduced or a clubcard offer, Tesco have not sent me vouchers or an email for 9 years, they also took £30 from my balance with no explanation. So to call it favourite leaves a bad taste in my mouth because we all pay for deals n discounts in the inflated prices.

    Food warehouse also has my contempt, the card worked for a few months, then they said I had to go online to verify it so I got no discount. I could not get the online process to work, wasted a long time online, spoke to people, got my carer to talk to people. Now I just don't shop there anymore and I was spending a lot there before.

    None of them are real discounts, the prices of everything is inflated, we need way more windfall taxes. It is not acceptable to me that Tesco earn £3bn while they cut back on the reductions on end of date food, withdraw Tesco Value lines and hike prices to obscene levels. I would take £2bn off them in a Windfall tax. Consider I used to pay 7p for 65g of Tesco Value noodles, prices only go up, they never roll back when the crisis that caused the hike is over. If before the latest war Petrol was £1.24 down from £2.25, prices were hiked and the £2.25 petrol price was blamed, but the price never dropped back. Now they hike again while petrol is £1.53, but we were already in hiked prices mode.

    I do not know how people who get basic Universal Credit survive even if they are working and topped up, but I do know one thing, so called loyalty cards do not help.

    I note that Tesco withdrew the "double the difference" if they overcharged you, yet every time I went to Tesco there was some overcharge. Last week I went there and they charged me £17 more than they should on one item, now I have to go back and have it out at my time, my petrol, my hassle.

    I think the poll should be to think up a new name instead of "Loyalty" card!
