National Grid rolling out "cut out inspections"

Just rec'd text saying they're rolling out the inspections door to door, without appointment for inspection only. They have alternative arrangements if no-one is home & their 'cut out asset' can't be inspected, it will be done by appointment then.

What is this, making sure we can have electric energy cut off once net zero is fully force & there's not enough power to go round?

They should already be doing this for meters - safety and meter fiddling .

By assets - poles and stays ? Should be every 12 month

The "DNO cut-out" is the main fuse where your electricity supply enters your property. Certain older models, or loose or faulty ones of any age, can cause house fires.

The remote control for your electricity supply.is contained inside your smart meter, which belongs to your supplier and is nothing to do with the DNO.
