I confess to impatience with 'arranged by colour' as I am not a standard size (other than too blinking big) - if I have need of a specific shade, I will emulate the mighty huntress Miro who has carried paint swatch cards, straps & other aides memoire to get the right colour. As that way, when you get the right garment, in the right size, in the right colour, you really have earned it/It Was Meant. (Other philosophies are available.) I have to say that I get struggle with clothes shopping Anyway, it's a personal failing. Members of this parish have been unstintingly generous in their support as I struggle.
As for books, again, I have finite time, so I had rather they were in alpha order & with a kickstep nearby, although I do love a peaceful meandering browse if the Fates are benevolent. (Railway charity bookshelves are wonderful, I can idle peacefully along & so long as my phone alarm has enough time to get me, change, book(s) & baggage to the right platform, they can arrange their stock in almost any way they please.)
I live in hope that there will be beachside popup chazzer stalls where I can deck the young in dry clothing before going home, buy collections of short stories for a few hours & redonate as I putter away & maybe get advice on which the really good chippy is (mother of sons - local knowledge saves hours of lamentation)!13 -
I too have seen books arranged by colour. Unfortunately it makes it a frustrating task looking for books by particular authors you like! I gave up. I am also not overkeen on clothes arranged by colour but I suppose it is to make the shop look more upmarket?9

I can't abide books ordered by colour, it's very difficult to find authors I'm keen on.
And if chazzers must order clothes by colour, then surely they can run all the reds / blues etc in size order?!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Oh you should definitely go! I always seem to find a new gallery that I’ve not looked at. The jewellery gallery is always worth a visit though, my nose prints are often found on the glassWednesday2000 said:Lovely!
I was just talking to someone about the V&A the other day. I haven't ever been there.

I consider myself to be the connoisseur of the chazzer-shop book: I have a cohort of around 12 I visit reasonably regularly only of those on one arranges the books by author. I prefer clothes arranged by colour order in charity shops as I usually only wear black, red or blue. I'm on the lookout for a red coat today, in fact.

I had to Google this - handy if you don't have a toasted sandwich maker. What do you plan to do with the breadcrusts?MSE_James said:Brand new Crimpit Toastie Maker - ~£15 from Amazon / Lakeland etc - for £2 at British Heart Foundation in Surrey Quays, London

I found this BNWT the other day for £1, RRP £5.99. The spike is intended to conduct the heat to the centre of the spud so basic physics tells me it should cut down on any cooking time. I plan to use it in my new CleverChef 14-in-1. Pic taken from Fleabay - selling at an astonishing £7.95!

I’ve seen those Crimpit things advertised. They look quite good.
I didn’t find any red coats in my size in the charity shops in Southend the other day. I ended up looking in the sales in M&S and New Look and got a couple of jumpers.
I did pop into St Vincent’s yesterday and found a few nice things, a gold Buddha statue, a blue chintzy dish, a red jumper and a cherub ornament.10
