Lovely!

I was just talking to someone about the V&A the other day. I haven't ever been there.4 -
Summer or winter, it is a delight and as a national museum it is free. The fare is not cheap but it is a lovely treat: https://www.vam.ac.uk/info/va-cafe/?srsltid=AfmBOopqSrJSE4_8Cu0boB9TERlKwGRHqvTnCnS5dwbf_e-6U__wAoLR .Wednesday2000 said:Lovely!

Weird chaz alert!!! Happened to need to go to the butchers (who didn't have what I was after) and so popped into a couple of chazzers nearby. And I saw the weirdest thing!!
Books!! Arranged by colour!!! And someone had taken a lot of care about it so that the yellows faded into the oranges and then into the reds. I've seen books randomly on shelves, vaguely sorted by size, alphabetical, often divided into fiction vs various non fiction topics but never by colour. Made it very difficult to find books that are in a series but the spines are different colours.
I might have said something but it seems unfair to complain about something to a volunteer that has given up her day and who has to be grumped at for something that she might not be responsible for. And maybe someone volunteering there is OCD or something and it soothes them to arrange things in that way. AND if I started commenting about the books I likely would have launched into a tirade about them having their double doors wide open with hot air blasting out. Hot air that didn't blast far enough to melt the frozen dog water bowl just outside.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I gave seen books arranged by colour in a charity shop.Does make it difficult to find titles.I have also saw a shop where they were arranged by "male authors" and "female authors". I looked to see if they had any George Elliot or Nicki French novels and where they might be but they didn't have any8 -
Talking of colour coding, all the chazzas near me colour code all the clothes and it does my head in!!
I don't go in thinking, " I'll get something pink today", if I want a pair of trousers or a jumper I want to look at all the trousers or all the jumpers, arranged by size, not have to look at everything in a particular colour searching for trousers or jumpers. Does anyone else gt annoyed by this or is it just me???!!!12 -
You are not alone. If i want trousers I don't want to fight my way round the shop.Nonnadiluca said:Talking of colour coding, all the chazzas near me colour code all the clothes and it does my head in!!

Oh you should definitely go! I always seem to find a new gallery that I’ve not looked at. The jewellery gallery is always worth a visit though, my nose prints are often found on the glassWednesday2000 said:Lovely!
