Maybe not in the budget, but possibly in Martin's interview with Rachel from Accounts.....did she mention anything about anyone in receipt of both state pension and works/private pension would have to start filling in tax returns from 2027 ???
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Nope. For what reason would it be necessary?GunJack said:Maybe not in the budget, but possibly in Martin's interview with Rachel from Accounts.....did she mention anything about anyone in receipt of both state pension and works/private pension would have to start filling in tax returns from 2027 ???0 -
I've got a state pension, final salary pension and drawdown from private pension, I've never had to do a tax return since I retired.0

The presence of the phrase "Rachel from Accounts" should probably be taken as an automatic sign to close off a discussion, as it's only used by people wanting to kick off a political discussion. Anyone really interested in knowing the answer can ask without the sexist name-calling.9

I have not seen anything along the lines suggested by the OP reported anywhere.
There is another thread in here where the proposal to avoid individuals with only the SP having to pay tax via simple assessment is discussed. This also covers subsequent queries about whether that is an administrative simplification that is to be implemented or a specific circumstance where tax would be avoided altogether.

Entirely off topic but I can't see how it is sexist? Could equally have been Nigel from customer relations (complaints and mortgage retentions) who claimed on their CV to have been chief economist having actually left under a cloud due to having purchased designer handbags on expenses.af1963 said:The presence of the phrase "Rachel from Accounts" should probably be taken as an automatic sign to close off a discussion, as it's only used by people wanting to kick off a political discussion. Don't forget the plagiarism, not sure our Nige has been accused of that...michaels said:

Not a fan of Private Eye then?
What is sexist about the nickname 'Rachel from Accounts'? I doubt the current incumbent of No 11 is the slightest concerned as you need skin like a rhino to hold that office. Political nicknames are commonplace - it's almost a national pastime.
OP asked an innocuous, financial question. I missed any intro. to a political discussion.0 -
But I think Nige also fell back on the 'I didn't know I needed it' when failing to have a licence to let out this property. Note again this is not sexist because forgetting the tax rules in a property transaction proved fatal to one female labour front bencher but not another, almost as if they play 'favourites'....hyubh said:
