I have just gotten back from big ASDA
Asked what the top up fee was for topping up my card in euros and told no fee! asked what the exchange rate fee was and gain no fee!

Was told if I put £50.09 on it I would get €54.00 I then asked if I did that and changed it back to pounds what would I get and told £41 something What a scam!!!

Eh? The sell back fee is always rubbish whetever you go. Even for buying physical currency.

Can you explain the "scam" because this clearly isnt one.

Please amend your title, it is in no way a scam, they were completely honest with you.

The buy/sell spread is always rubbish here in the UK but nevertheless transparent.

Another knee bender here. The buy and sell rates of currency are rarely favourable if you use the likes of Asda for a currency card. The sell back rate is always much lower than the buy rate no matter whether you get a card or currency. This can be avoided by getting one of the credit cards with perfect rates and no loading, but I get the impression you either can't, or don't want, get one of those.
