Financial education should be taught in more schools in England, a new report on the national curriculum has recommended. MoneySavingExpert.com founder Martin Lewis, who has long campaigned for this, said he's "cheering a big intention to improve things", but cautioned that "the detail will matter"...

It's amazing that it's isn't embedded into the curriculum already, along with life skills such as relationship, assertion skills, stress management, basic human rights - respect for self and others for a start - self-defence, first aid... add your own!It wouldn't be too hard. All it needs is for someone well known and/or savvy - plus a few 'experts' to make a few videos that schools can use to fulfil all those requirements and more.0

What's odd though my son attends a special needs school due to autism. They have financial skills education from KS3 as it's assumed they need more help with life skills, handling money and debt etc. But my friends kids in mainstream schools get nothing.0
