paying in a check at the Post Office (no bank account)

I was on the phone before to the "Bank of Scotland"
I said I may have a check coming soon and the issuer is the "Bank of Scotland". I said can i cash it in one of your branches with no bank account. He said no you do this at the post office. I have just looked at the post officers web site, and the only mention is paying the check into a post office account. So has anyone heard of this before?
Thanks

No, you can't cash a cheque at the Post Office. You might be able to pay it into your bank account there, though. You do have a bank account, don't you?N. Hampshire, he/him. I really don’t see how anyone can get through life without even a basic bank account in this modern age.1 -

Just post it to your bank, I used to do it that way with the Giro Bank back in the 90s, now I do it with Nationwide, or I take it to my building society.0

The only place you can cash a cheque, rather than paying it into a bank account, is at one of the loan companies, such as Cash Shop:
https://cashshop.co.uk/
You'll have to pay fees for this service.

I very much doubt it though since the enterties that run this site will not want others to get smart ideas on how to get the keys to there shacklesHuman Rights Act 1998, Article 10"Everyone has the right to freedom of expression.
