    Yes, I think that was this thread.
    In which case, so long as the tax was started from 1st of this month onwards, the OP loses nothing by the car being taxed ready for collection and it would make the collection (which I think was to be this weekend) simpler and more straightforward.

    Unless the OP was concerned that the car had been taxed in someone else's name and the OP would be asked to pay that tax as part of the purchase price but then the refund goes back to someone else when the V5C is sent in to DVLA.  That would be a complex fraud for little gain so seems unlikely.
