ASDA travel money cards (no bank account needed!)

So I called into ASDA today at there money exchange counter. And got a card
I put 51 cash on it meaning i get 50 pound on the card and they charged me an extortion rate of 2%. They also asked for ID and said they will ask again when i top it up next time. But I wonder if someone ells with ID can top it up, if that will work? Still topped up with cash so no bank account needed. only problem is the high 2% fee and the ID required

What do the terms and conditions say? Why would you want anyone else to top it up? What are you trying to do? Why does it always sound like you're trying to launder cash?

If it's branded as Asda then I suspect you can only top up with them.

Why do you need a cash card?  What are the alternatives?

    Because he is?
If you were properly “de-banking” would that not mean avoiding all banking products completely including prepaid cards?

This sort of thing, just like naval flags in courts and legal names will not wash anywhere you try and test it

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
