Hoping to apply for a DRO

I am just at the very beginning of applying for a DRO, my debts are less than £50k, I have no assets etc however I’m wondering if when applying your partners income is included?

The debts are mine alone, I work part time and pay a few bills of my own such as my phone & prescription prepayment. I send my husband £500 a month towards our rent & bills, and I pay for the food shopping. This leaves me with around £50 a month left over.

We have a car which is on finance, in my husbands name, I’m just a named driver on insurance.

We get child benefit for my daughter which goes to my husbands bank.

He manages to save money each month with the aim of saving for a house deposit which would likely take 6-8 years.

Will him having excess money affect my application? Will the fact I pay my share of the bills to him rather than directly to the companies make a difference?

I’m so anxious and extremely stressed by it all, I don’t want something to ruin it

Let your intermediary do the calculations.

Your partner's income is considered so that a correct share of the joint expenses can be recorded

Not directly. But as @fatbelly says, his income is taken into consideration to see if you are paying a fair share of the bills

Of course you also have to pay for your own clothes, haircuts, prescriptions, gifts etc

Will the fact I pay my share of the bills to him rather than directly to the companies make a difference?
    No, this is normal

If the DRO adviser says you dont qualify, come back here and we can talk through your budget in detail? But many people worry too much about this and have no problem at all with a DRO application, so there is no need to do this now.
