If only people look when clicking links for cashback & checked spam/junk for emails. They would nip this in the bud. Then monitor their bank accounts...
Personally have see a couple of refunds in 1000's
All it took was a call to the 0800 number & a email to confirm, funny that customers deny any knowledge of doing this, but the company have all their details?.
CompleteSave one of the better sites out there for this. 👍Life in the slow lane2 -
It seems that MSE has got it in for Complete Savings….
Although I greatly respect much of the work that MSE does, the recent article about CS is a bit unbalanced.
I’m not here to defend CS or speak on their behalf or to encourage anyone to sign up.I think it’s fair to say that their membership can be very rewarding and isn’t sneaky once you understand how it works. The two of us have two CS memberships between us and make good use of both accounts each month of the year. My wife’s account has earned us almost £3,500 since she joined more than 10 yrs ago. My own account ‘only’ around £1,000 over a shorter period.
We use them for both cashback and discounted giftcards.
Sure, CS has been very infuriating at times, with some unfairly rejected cashback claims, but most of these were resolved eventually. For the past year or so they have used a new system & website - the c/back tracking is much better and the monthly claims process much easier. This has been a big improvement, which is why I’m (reluctantly) springing to their defence, because I believe in fairness.I know that not everyone reads the small print each time, but why don’t people check their card or bank statements each month? They would have spotted the unexpected charges and there would be no need for the “I secured massive refund for sneaky charges” drama and look-at-me headlines.
If you sign up for something, please don’t use the advert as an excuse for not reading the conditions and details, nor for overlooking a recurring charge for months on end.
Perhaps this could be included in the financial literacy training that Martin is so keen on?
We still also use TCB and Quidco but it’s CS that brings in most of our monthly c/b 🙂2
