Unsure as I’ve searched a couple of sites and some state Fry’s in 1873 followed by Cadbury in 1875, other sites have 1873 as Cadbury

It's false - Cadbury's own website says they first made chocolate Easter eggs in 1875.

It was Fry's who produced first Easter egg in 1873. Cadbury bought Fry's in 1935.36
