Has anyone else downloaded the Winedrops app on the premise that it cuts out the middleman and gets you good deals on wine?
I did. WISH I HADN'T.
Even though I didn't order anything I was charged a £119 'membership fee', which they seem to be refusing to refund.
And the deals aren't even that good anyway - it's basically supermarket wine at supermarket prices, plus a delivery fee and £119 a year 'membership'.
I'm now disputing the charge with my credit card provider.
PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE.

Did use a previous app called Wine Drop or just Drop that was for wine depending on which version of the app you had but sounds like a totally different thing. They stopped operating a few years ago as they are a London wine bar and decided the app was at the size where either they go all in and become an IT company or pull out, sounds like this crew have jumped on their name. They didnt charge subscription, was a "within an hour" type delivery and wasnt wine you'd find in a supermarket (nor was it brilliantly priced but they claimed convenience and quality not price).
The app you are talking about only has 6 reviews in the AppleStore, all 1 star, all complaining about fees.1 -

Winedrops has a membership fee which is explained in the onboarding process & intro email. This is an annual membership. After the free trial expires, you are automatically upgraded to members status.
7. Free Trial Period
Any user on a free trial must cancel their Membership before the indicated Trial End period if they no longer want to become a Member. This can be done within the profile section of the app. The subscription fee taken at the Trial End period is non-refundable. Email help@winedrops.co.uk with any further questions.

Anything that says 'free trial' (shown on winedrops website homepage) will be a membership scheme.
Further down the home page it says:That should alert that there will be a membership fee.Why use Winedrops?
Our members save on average £500 per year
That - on top of the text quoted by born_again - should have warned the OP what they were signing up for.
