CrazyBee's Weightloss Journey

Hi, After many years of trying to lose weight with different weightloss groups and styles, I have come to the conclusion that I need my own rules and my own methods although using some knowledge gained from places like SW and WW to some degree, but also calorie counting.
I have decided that I need a good bowl of porridge for breakfast (60g oats & 300mL Skimmed milk) with a stevia & Cinnamon topping (Not too much though!). I have decided on this because Oats are filling and when served from real oats are good for you and nutritious, cinnamon helps regulate the blood sugar levels and stevia is a sweetener which is good for good bacteria in your gut. (5 syns Plus HeB)
Against advice from SW I have dedcided to have one sandwich, fruit too if I get some. The sandwich will be Wholemeal bread medium cut (8 syns) 30g cheese (HeA) and Ham (free). Fruit is free either Orange/apple/strawberries/pineapple/grapes.
So Far I am up to 13 syns, I am allowed 25 syns.
Dinner:-
As someone right now not on a diet I have enjoyed the following and it is not many syns I think?
Which is Quorn meatballs in tomato sauce and herbs onions and garlic with spaghetti..I don't actually know if there are syns in quorn meatballs? I may sneekily ask the SW group on the forum here!?
Other meal ideas include:-
1) Lamb rogan josh made with lean lamb (although very expensive) this is syn free served with boiled rice.
2) Steak and HM chips, a few syns for the fat content in my Rib Eye Steak.
3) Spicy chicken thighs served with boiled rice...made with yoghurt and curry powder.
4) Korean meatballs and rice.
5) Low fat burgers served with chips and salad.
6) spicy chicken breast served with salad and chips.
7) Jacket potato with beans and worcesterhire sauce.
8) Lamb shank, although it looks like Mr. S no longer do this...I must see if I can find one in Mr. A, usually these are sent from heaven delicious but only a few syns (4.5).
Anyhow I am going to change my online shopping to include these things and have a big cook off, then start the plan on Sunday 23rd March. I will weigh myself in the Morning- I have been told not to start diets on Monday, because if you fail on one day you think the whole week is a failure...so Sunday it is.
I would have been quite happy to not go on a diet, but MD and DR and Lodger have all implied that I need to lose weight...so I will try again after years of not trying.
Also I will have one treat per day, I will leave this until the evening, it is a chocolate feast ice cream...lets see how many syns and whether I can or not?...I need to ask this at SW group too, I could join SW and I may well do, afterall there is a group on Saturdays, of course my shopping arrives about then too so maybe not...there is also a group on Tuesday? HMmmm?
Wish me luckXX

I think the problem is that short term diets don't work, you have to find a way of eating healthily (and less food potentially) for the rest of your life.
I also question the wisdom of low fat, but still lots of sugar/carbs.1 -
I have just planned my shop, crikey I am going to be busy batch cooking over the weekend to start I will have 26 meals and I have spent £121.09, I will share pictures of my creation when I receive and make the food.I am trying to raise £300 by 30.06.25 from Prolific and other sources, I am up to £62.49/£300 which is 20%0

I wish you luck, but would echo what another poster said above, it's more about changing your affair with food and making life long changes. I have struggled with my weight all my life. I managed to lose 2.5 stone a couple times doing the keto diet. But I tended to celebrate my weight loss by eating and putting most of it back on!This time I am doing Slimfast; been doing it since January and have been losing an avergae of 2lbs a week. A lot of people I have spoken to have said they wish there was a pill that they could take where they wouldn't be hungry and crave food. I think for me, Slimfast is the closest you can get to this. one for breakfast fills me up, one for lunch, and then I have a proper meal as long as it's not over 800kcals. They also allow 300Kcal of snacks, but I tend not to need any, and snacking is what made me put on weight in the first place! You can also make the shake with Soya milk (because too much dairy doesn't agree with me) which is even less calories than skimmed milk. Or the shakes even taste nice made with water1

Good luck crazybee! I started dieting inJan for the first time and I’ve lost 5kg. I’m going for porridge and hummus/veg/crackers maybe some cheese for lunch each day so I only have to think about dinner! It’s been going okay but I’ve kind of written this week off already 😝I don’t get sw but if it helps you work out a sensible plan than go for it.Are you exercising much?MFW 2021 #76 £5,145

I feel that I have chosen things that I enjoy and can stick to, I do have a bag full of recipes all SW friendly so I will batch cook different things to try.
This evening I am not on plan, having had a big lunch but I am hungry, but I am pushing myself to last until dinner with a water at my side.I am trying to raise £300 by 30.06.25 from Prolific and other sources, I am up to £62.49/£300 which is 20%0 -

I know the battle well, But I feel I must try again. And I have chosen foods that I find enjoyable, which could have been a set back otherwise! Well done on your achievement. Possibility....first I need a job though, that is another story!I am trying to raise £300 by 30.06.25 from Prolific and other sources, I am up to £62.49/£300 which is 20%0 -
Just a quick update, I am delaying starting for one week, I quickly changed shop last night I didn't think tomorrow was the right time, but I still want to do it. Good luck to all those who have startedXXI am trying to raise £300 by 30.06.25 from Prolific and other sources, I am up to £62.49/£300 which is 20%0

But to be honest it sounds like your heart isn't up for weight loss, you're not doing it for you, you're doing it as other people think you should - as it's not what you want then you'll probably fail. Or you'll lose weight, only to put more back on.
Dieting is like getting in control of your finances when you're in debt. Both need you to want it, and be willing to make the necessary sacrifices. I think you need to have your lightbulb moment.1 -
