  • Like you, i wind myself up in these dilemmas all the time. I think it's the game play and dopamine element to debt paying. To keep making progress you have to keep it interesting to you.

Although financially Scott is correct, I guess the reality of debt paying is you should do whatever option keeps you interested and motivated and stops you falling off the wagon. Success doesn't have to be linear it just has to be continuous.

I remember when I was clearing my DMP (multiple creditors) I had the same dilemma at one stage.

I chose to clear one of the smaller debts to reduce creditors. When you are playing a long game sometimes you need some smaller wins to keep you going.

I used to do exactly this i was in an absolute mess at one point creditors everywhere payday loans, store cards, catalogues, credit cards.

I had 17 debts at one point when some got below 100-75 quid even though they werent the highest interest yes i did start using cb/additional earnings to get them down. When one goes it feels brilliant and you get that lush feeling of phewwww another one bites the dust.

Another busy day at work :( I do at least love this job though, and love my little team.
I had to unclog leaves from an outside drain this afternoon, my patio was flooded as usual but this time it was over the step to the conservatory. I really need get my gutters replaced. The other drain is blocked too, but must be further down where I can't get to it. This has been a constant battle for the whole time I've lived here.
In slightly disappointing news the little wall I've been repairing has a tiny leak. I'm not sure I'll get a run of dry days to repair for a good few months. The rest of the repair is holding up well though, so the water running through my garden is reduced.
I had to order a load of woodchip to make a path in the garden. I've been signed up for the wood drop for 5 years but never had anything. There must be a cheaper way than ordering bags of it though. I did find a builders bag for £65 but it was another £30 for delivery.
I went for a meal last night and it was lovely. I got to see my lovely nephew for the first time this year, and bless him he paid for our meal.  So the money saved was what I used for woodchips.
Just one more day of work and then I have 4 days off.

Another thought, if one of your existing cards offered a BT deal to clear one of the others, that would also reduce the number of debts. I know others have said reduce the loan but I totally get wanting to clear another card to reduce the debtors, I got rid of one last month and it was lovely.

I've done a few switches recently so my credit score is very low. It should start to improve quickly now. I'm hoping that I'll get some good options in the new year and I can make some final decisions then.
I'll keep throwing extra towards the loan this year though.

Mines really bad too at the minute due to all the switches, think I can only do one more and then hopefully my score will start building up again.

I'm going to have a break now until I have sorted these CC transfers in the summer, then I can see if there's any more to do @flamingo22

I've just finished another busy week at work, but very much looking forward to 4 days off. I'm hoping I have enough energy to really make a difference in the jobs that need doing around the house (without wiping myself out for work next week, obvs).

Tomorrow's main focus will be on the storage unit. I have a long list of other potential tasks but I'm getting that one out of the way first. I've got a top up grocery delivery coming too.
