I really need to go back to basics with my accounts for a while, I'm getting into such a pickle with moving money to the switch accounts and all that stuff. I've just reduced the SO from my wages to my bills account, and created a SO for my 3DDs from my wages account to my switch account so that should be one less thing to worry about. I've also opened a regular saver for my EF but can only put £250 in per month so I have £351 sat in my switch account ready to transfer bit by bit (they're the same bank) but have absolutely lost track of where this months EF donation should come from. It can't be my wages account as there's none left. Eurgh. I have money in the accounts to pay for the bills and DDs, money on my (cleared every month) credit card for food and fuel, so I'm not worried too much, it's there somewhere along with the dentist money. I'll get it all squared away at some point hopefully.
I have to jump through hoops in November and December for the rest of the switch money then I'm taking a break from it to get my credit score up ready for the balance transfer in summer.
In other news I accidentally reduced my (0%) overdraft by £50, on a month when money was already tight. Plonker. I could have at least waited for 1stD compensation before I did it. They are meant to pay me by Thursday but not heard from them yet.
I really need to post some things I sold on Vnted tomorrow, they sold on Sunday but I've been really busy at work during the day and not able to leave the house once it's dark (fireworks and old scared dog). I still haven't posted my two boxes of books either. I'm WFH tomorrow and have some decent gaps in my day so no excuses.
I need to list a few more things that are ready to be photographed, and I could probably do with taking the things that haven't sold to the charity clothing bin.
I'm getting the urge to take more drastic measures but I'm trying to keep focussed on the plan of paying slightly more on every debts and spending my energy on decluttering until Christmas. It's working. If I want to tighten things further I can do that in the new year. I just keep playing around with figures to keep me motivated, working out how much I've overpaid on each debt.
I've asked for money towards Premium Bonds from my family for Christmas. They refuse to give me money for or buy me anything sensible usually, but I think they'll be ok with PBs.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Good idea to request PBsIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

This morning, from bed, I have found my emergency fund money (old and new) and transferred it all (minus the £250 that went into the regular saver) back to the appropriately labeled pot. I'll keep using that and just transfer 250 each month into the RS. I thought I could do without the extra pot but I can't 😂.
801.97 in my emergency fund. I'm pretty pleased with that so far.
Now I just have to locate the dentist money and the dog food money and it's all squared up for another month.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Today I am mostly thinking about what I'll do with my days off work soon. A bit of boring stuff and a bit of something nice, but it has to be almost zero cost.
I'm considering finishing my downstairs bathroom (just second coat of paint and putting a new blind up) and having a bath one of the days. Two separate friends have bought new houses so I could visit one of them. I could do a big push on the decluttering and do a tip run. My nephew is home (he works away) so I could go for food with him and meet his partner for the first time (I don't think I've seen my nephew in real life since Christmas).
I've got a week or so to decide, but for now I'm enjoying generating options.
I've spent the whole evening in my living room with the radio on very loud to distract the dog so I haven't been able to do much else this evening. I don't want to be that person moaning about fireworks but it's been 11 days of them and today they started at 3.40 while it was still light outside. Hopefully only a few more days of it and I'll have my evening freedom back.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Today I had another very busy day in work. I got fuel. I did not get a top up food shop (fresh veg etc) as I ran out of time between meetings. I decluttered some paint brushes and rollers that were too hard to save. I also decluttered 6 plants, a large cushion, and a throw/blanket to someone from work who is moving house.
Tomorrow I have acupuncture and a dog walk with friends if the weather isn't too bad.
1stD still haven't paid me my compensation and the deadline was yesterday I'll have to go back to the ombudsman 🙄

We had a lovely walk but it was quite strenuous, about 2 and a half hours and somehow got stuck in a fenced off bit and had to do a bit of scrambling over boulders and up steep banks. My new fitness goal is to be as fit as the mate I was walking with, who's nearly 30 years older than me. Oh the shame!
Just did my weekly catch up on the figures, and they look better than last week now a few DDs have gone out.
Today's debt amount is 29,738.11 so safely under 30k now. I also have 801.97 in the Emergency Fund.
The next goal is to get the credit card debt under 17k, which should be done at the end of this month.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Today I have been tackling small annoying tasks that have been making me grumpy before I've even had a shower in the morning. Sorting, moving, repairing. Present day me is grateful for old me who bought extra battery operated lights and extra batteries.
Summer clothes away, winter jumpers washed and drying.
Unclogged my sink with vinegar and bicarb and now I feel like Nancy Birtwhistle (without the baking skills).
More decluttering done (curtain hooks, curtain pole brackets, 5 leads, broken drawer, coat hangers).
Had a play around and a think about my finances and debt tackling order.
Not quite the jobs I should have been doing as my house is looking quite messy, but I'm hoping feeling less guilt/annoyance first thing in the morning will make the rest of the day more enjoyable. I can hoover and mop tomorrow with all that extra energy I'll have. Maybe.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

re this whats your thoughts?
"Had a play around and a think about my finances and debt tackling order."1 -
I have three credit cards with 0% ending next year, in July, October, and December. I want to cut those three down to two cards so was wondering whether I could get enough of a BT limit on a new card in July to transfer two on to. It looks like if I can get another 10k limit I will have maybe 1k left on the October card, so I was wondering whether I could blast that grand away between July and October.Scott_Weiland79 said:re this whats your thoughts?

Although everything is being slightly overpaid I have been throwing any unexpected extra money to the loan to reduce the interest paid, but I'm wondering whether to start throwing the extra to the credit card in the new year to make the two credit card plan happen. Financially I should throw it at the loan, but I think mentally getting rid of one of the credit cards would be beneficial. I don't have to decide yet.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Hmmmmm I am guessing your referring to overpaying on the first direct loan? Whats the apr on it and whats the monthly repay on it.
My five penneth would be keep hammering the loan, I know when you have more than one debt the temptation is always there to get shot of a debt. I had 15-16 at one point
But the focus needs to be overpay whats charging the most interest or what is the most interest and highest repayment value.2
