Are we expecting the BOE Base Rate to drop to 4% on 7th August?

    Yes, I also think rate may go down in May. The inflation is down and due to clowns on both sides of the pond, there will be big impact on economy. So to stimulate growth, BoE needs to show they are trying to kick start the economy. Lower borrowing rate should help with that.
    Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

    Unlikely I should say. More likely they will leave rates as they are and wait and see what happens.

    Inflation will remain the priority target for the BOE. Reducing interest rates has no particularly bearing on exported goods.
