7/20 still but this evening is our A/F cocktail night we try to do one every Friday to avoid the end of the week alcohol rush.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I like the sound of this. I’ve gone on before about how easy it is to create rituals and routines around drinking alcohol and how these can be surprisingly hard to break out from. I realised a few years ago that I was drinking at the end of the week not necessarily because I was out with friends, or taking part in any special occasion, nor even because I was particularly enjoying myself, but if anyone had asked me why I was drinking alcohol, the only answer I could have given was: “Well, it’s a Friday, so of course I’m going to have a few drinks. What a strange question.”Watty1 said:7/20 still but this evening is our A/F cocktail night we try to do one every Friday to avoid the end of the week alcohol rush.
Cathybird, I did end my long, dry spell last weekend (this was a planned social night out) and so I’m up to 9/27 inc today thank you.4 -
8/24 today please Cathybird. Ridiculously pleased with myself because I looked at my favourite bottle of red - which was on offer - noted how much it was and carried on shopping without even considering buying it!6
