I've been up for 48 hours and when stripping my busted washing machine, I found shattered bearing parts all over the drum :(

    Uneconomic to repair?

Completely. Ripped apart a load of electrics too when it splintered. Would have cost at least £100 to repair.

Ah...the electrics are normally the expensive bits...

At least you tried to fix it HBFS ;)

The belt recently went on our tumble drier, and I'm very chuffed to say we managed to fix it for £12.

Pre LBM, we would've gone straight out and bought a new one

I wish I hadn't... there's something really demoralising about seeing your washing machine in pieces and you can't do a thing. :(

And my 2008 is turning into a nightmare! My phone charger broke last night at work and I was switched from an easy line (list of posts to cover) to the busiest one going. Was sooooooo tired when I got in :(

No you dont - I've bought 2 washing machines in the past, when the only problem with the old ones was a coin blocking the outlet pipe.

It's just the worst feeling

Sorry to hear you had a bad night. It's not been the best start to 2008 for you has it
