  • I'd be interested to hear on the avc's vs debt payments info from pension wise so might give them a call - I am not far behind you age wise and have thought about slowing down debt repayment to top up pension pots as the pension then has longer to grow so potentially longer term benefit than debt repayment.

Fabulous user name by the way - you could probably add another couple of names to it too in a similar vein  :)
I have been paying a bit extra into avc's but by withdrawing some funds from a another defined contribution pension pot  from previous employment, the intention is to wipe out all the remaining debt and that way I'll be able to allocate the money I would've used to service debt into my current pension pot.
What I need from pension wise is guidance as to whether this is the right strategy whatever option I go for the unfortunate reality is not having a better grip on this in the past means I am playing catch up. It's taken a long time to wake up from cloud coockoo land but debt I vow never to incur again! Thanks for the approval of the user name haha yes I'm sure there are a few good names which could be added to the list!
I'm just about to plunge £35 earned from Topcashback onto one of my loans it actually gives me a dopamine rush see the total reducing but the real dopamine hits will come from when I can finally save money just a few more months to go hopefully!!!
