Freebies - why don't they arrive?

I recently joined this site and another. I went mental at first with samples and what not, and did not receive a single thing. I was filling out my details at the same time as other people and they were getting it and I was not. It's either the postman pinches it all, which I am 100% sure mine does, or they get lost in the post. Also, I would only try the big companies like say for example Nestle, Walkers etc, as they tend to be the ones that always send out their samples/vouchers etc. I'm still waiting on my Lucozades which I filled out ages ago. Funny thing is I have not even had a little leaflet saying sorry we have run out, which a lot of other people have had. Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you will get some eventually.0

hi Happy New Year to everyone at MSE.i joined back in early November and kept a rough note(& i mean ruff) of what freebies and comps i applied to .I reckon i have received about 1/3 of what i applied for which i feel is pretty good considering there are hundreds of people applying not only from this site but also from other sites & sources.my DH thinks i spend more time with Marin Lewis than with him !I do think you need to apply as soon as you see a freebie that interest you & remember that 4-8 weeks is quite normal for delivery, but that said i did recieve the original source shower gel within about 10 days.0

Sometimes they arrive, sometimes they don't, and sometimes you end up with 2 or 3 lots when you only ordered one.0

Whenever I apply for freebies, I always do them to my home address and at the same time to my Mothers. Mine mostly turn up - but very rarely do the ones show that are addressed to my Mothers.
I read a week or so ago about a postman in Kent facing sentencing for stealing Money-off coupons out of the mail he was meant to deliver.0 -
Most of my freebies turn up, but some arrive very late, like when you've totally forgotten about them! Some never turn up at all. Like lots of things, trial and error, you get to know which are a good bet and which are not, some of them are pretty good others Naff!

More often than not I don't receive mine, but I don't blame my postie - he's a lovely man who always has the time of day.
I guess I just apply to late/to the wrong ones.
Having said that, recently I have had the nescafe mug, a stapler, a paper holder thing, an arthritus cream and aussie roots conditioner so I'm not doing too badly.
It's just a bonus if they come.0 -
The only one I've hardly ever received is the monthly free jelly beans, & I don't bother applying any more. This is the way I apply for freebies.
- I work during the day, so I check the site before going to work & apply there & then, because I can't do it from work & chances are there won't be any left if I leave it until I get home.
- On weekends, I check the forums several times during the day starting at 8am, in case there are any freebies that may have been mentioned in newspapers that I don't usually get.
- I don't apply for anything where the site/newspaper article says there are less than 1000 on offer. If something's been featured in a newspaper, it could have been seen by many people for several hours before it appears on here or another site. By the time I get wind of it, something with less than 1000 available could have run out pretty quickly.
- If I'm applying for something for myself & for someone else, I do their application several hours after mine, maybe even a day or two later if there's a lot of stock available. That way, whether the responses are sorted in date or alphabetical order, they're less likely to appear on the same printout as me, making it less likely that they get the item & I don't. I also never tell them when I've applied for something for them - that way, it's a nice surprise when it turns up & there's no disappointment if it doesn't.
- I don't apply for silly quantities, like 5 or more of something. Doing that lessens the chances of as great a number of people getting something as possible, which isn't fair. I'll apply for something for people I know who don't have internet access or who only have dial-up, but if someone has broadband or faster I pass on the link & leave it to them to apply for themselves if they want the item.

we recently got a new postie about 1 to 2 months ago now and I have also noticed a lack of freebies coming through the post box....0

I joined this site only a few weeks ago, I have already had my two free teabags from Yorkshire Tea...very nice it was too, and free samples of three different kinds of fake grass, I can't remember why I ordered it, there was a reason I am sure but it just escapes me now.
I have ordered alot of stuff and I forget all of it now, so the way I look at it is this....if it takes them a couple of months to send off my stuff I will get little surprises now and then I totally forgot about. All very nice and who knows I might get some useful stuff too....0 -
Yes I too have had probs with postie do two seys of freebies one to mum and one to me she gets all hers, I only get any that are largish parcels which I think the postie thinks are things i've bought, anything free I don't get so don't bother anymore. Witth the previous postie no probs so is a bit of a coincidence.0
