Hi. Please help
I want to apply for a DRO I'm in wales.
I understand what is needed payslips etc. My concerns are my partner. Her finances are completely separate to mine and has her own own debt and also don't work and earn as much as me. Also said she doesn't want any involvement as its my debts as we don't share any together. Is this doable? Can I still apply? There is transactions on my statements from my wife where she will give me what she can afford here and there throughout the month , so I mean there is money coming into my bank as such from her. Do I need to justify all this or will they just be looking at my salary etc. I'm basically looking at going through a DRO but I don't want it to affect my partner or very little so. I'm clueless to be honest. All I know is I need some advice someone I can ask a few questions to privately who is more clued up than me. Can anyone help me please. 🙏🏻

They usually use a household budget to determine disposable income.
You will need to work out who contributes to what, and get it all down on paper beforehand."Guidance to Citizens Advice debt advisers states that the debtor can include either:
half of the total household income, and half of the expenditure
an amount that reflects the contribution made by the household to the total income
The debtor can include the proportion they pay on their financial statement, if some items of expenditure are paid jointly with another person."
Your budget must show a disposable income figure of no more than £75.

If you dont have a joint account with her, her credit rating wont be affected by your DRO, or any other debt solution you choose.
In a DRO you don't have to make any payments a month, so she wont be asked to cover more of the bills so that you can pay your debts. In fact she would benefit from you having more money a month with no debts to be paid.
The only problem for her might be if you are renting privately it may be hard to get a new tenancy when you are in a DRO.0
