The 2023 and 2024 figures do not make sense as the difference is not enough to account for the 8.5% pension increase.

Look at your statement of increase in benefits.
You should see
HOW YOUR BENEFIT IS MADE UP
The first figure shown should be Basic State Pension.
Is that the only amount shown on your statement?
You have nothing under
Pre 97 Additional State Pension
Post 97 Additional State Pension
Graduated Retirement Benefit?

I had 4 children, the 1st born in 1977, the 2nd in 1980, the 3rd in 1989, the 4th in 1990. I also, had some part-time work during this period. My Gov. Gateway account shows "no contribution" for several of those years for National Insurance, however, I was in receipt of Child Benefit. I received State Pension in 2008. I am not in receipt of a full State Pension because my NI contributions have not recorded the years I looked after my children.
Something else to note
If you are a woman, you cannot get HRP for any year when you were entitled to pay reduced NI contributions for married women and widows, while you were working.
