I think I mentioned earlier that work has been pretty miserable for a while, so I've been applying for jobs and looking to see what else is out there.

Well, I can finally say I have a new job!!

It's the same money as I'm currently on but a huge step up and hopefully better work/life balance etc.

The only thing I'm worried about is repaying course fees. But I spoke to my manager who said we'll work something out. There's also the possibility of being put on gardening leave (or is it garden leave, I can never remember) for the duration of my notice period which isn't the worst thing in the world to happen.

I also need to let creditors know I might have to change the date Standing Orders go out. But I'm definitely relieved!

I've reduced my standing orders down to the minimum as I need to keep money back to cover repaying the course fees. Work have offered to allow me to repay them over 3 months but I just want it gone. It means my final month's salary is likely to be significantly less but I won't know until a couple of days before payday, or maybe until I actually get paid.

I'm also going from payday at the end of the month, to the middle of the month and potentially not being paid a full month until September so lots of saving to be done between now and September just in case.

I'm currently working my way through the freezer and larder instead of just buying my usual shopping list items to reduce my outgoings to just priority bills and absolute necessities.

I also found new dog food on offer so will try switching him over to the new stuff and if he likes it then he's sorted for the next couple of months too.

Absolutely! I've been miserable for so long that I'm much better out of there, even if it means repaying these blooming course fees :)
