Make Do, Mend & Minimise in 2025 (and 2024)

Make do: My online shop is tomorrow and I had no bread left. I had crackers and cheese that were leftover from Christmas for lunch. It was delicious especially the cheese.Mend: I repaired a zip on my brothers jacket. It only took 10 minutes.
Minimise : I took the following to a charity shop. 1 dress, 2 tops, 1 knitting pattern book, 4 balls of wool and 25 unused sewing patterns. What a waste of money buying all these sewing patterns and not using them 😡. I had kept them hoping to do some dressmaking but that's not going to happen after all these years. I have kept a few just in case 🤪.
I also bought 100g of lovely blue baby wool from the charity shop. I know I will use this in the next couple of months.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Make do- ate from fridge only today
Mend - nothing
Minimise - went through both of our freezers. Oh my word. Did a butchers shop last early November and we’re still going strong on that. Quite a few roast left. Got 2 packs of sausages we don’t like to go to a friend on Thursday. Took burgers, 2 sausages in a bag on their own and some rolls out for supper/Wednesday dinner.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Make do - made a carrot and lentil soup for lunch today with veggies that needed cooking.
Minimise - trying to eat my way through the last of the fresh fruit and veggies, before I get my veg box on Thursday from a local community centre in the next village.
Mend - sewed the foot of an owl belonging to one of my dgds, that had come undone.

Make do - made soup, used jelly from pantry shelves for a pud, make some extremely tasty chicken stock which I’ve frozen.
Mend - not sure comes under mending, made myself some good old fashioned knee warmers as I have arthritic knees and cold makes them very painful and stiff. Used yarn from my stash so nothing spent.
Minimise - in tandem with above, used some of my stash. It doesn’t seem to be shrinking though so I have listed some with ball bands on eBay.Didn’t think I’d done anything today but I have been industrious.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Make do: I had Christmas leftovers for lunch again. Crackers and smoked ham cheese as I had no bread left. My online supermarket delivery arrived later so it'll be sandwiches tomorrow.
Mend: Nothing today
Minimise: I took another bag of books and fabric to the charity shop. Probably about 6 metres of dressmaking fabric that I've had several years and never used.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Make do - still using up up food from fridge/freezer and stores.
Mend - nothing needs mending at the moment, although I have tied up my outside swing up more securely because of the wind.
Minimise - the amount of money I'm spending 🤣

Bit late to the party but yesterday I
make do = cream cheese and crackers for lunch together with homemade cheese and bacon puff pastry made from freezer bits 🥐
Mend = my glasses. Thankful that I have a glasses screwdriver as the side arm screw keeps coming loose.
Minimise = more crochet from my stash. My aim is to make a cardigan/waistcoat from granny squares but the speed I’m working it’ll go out of fashion 🤣#17 1p Challenge £125.65/671

Make do - still eating the Christmas food stocks. It’s now over a month since I bought them and I am pleased to be getting to the end point. I have meals planned to use everything remaining in the fridge during the next week.Mend - completed the top I was making and am very pleased with it. The cuffs worked out to be nicer than the original pattern so that was a good fix. The bath waste was treated to some washing soda and boiling water as it was running very slowly. It’s better but I think that I will do it again today and also use the plunger.Minimised- what’s in the fridge, including those jars and bottles that have been open forever. A work in progress but everything needs to be eaten or discarded if it really is beyond being reasonable to consume it. Starting to get space in the freezer too. I used two small bottles of leftover red wine from there for a beef stew. My hair, I had a couple of inches cut off.8

Make do - I batch cooked mashed potatoes yesterday and froze it in scoops. There was a little left so I had it for lunch today with a fried egg. It was delicious fried till it had a brown crust.Mend - I added a bottle carrier to the inside of a cross body bag. I use this for travelling so it's handy for my flask.
Minimise - Can't think of anything todayDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)
