It was all stashed away in a box under my spare bed in the spare room, and I'd forgotten about it. So sadly it went to the tip and when I asked the chap there he said yes unfortunately so much stuff ends up here as a lot of chemist won't take it.I now try if I need it over the counter stuff rather than prescription stuff) , although I do have to take three tablets a day for my heart which I can only get via the Dr.
Anything else I just stick to paracetamols or lemon and honey for a cough.I hate to think of the amount of wasteage in medications that end up in landfill
Today I shall
Make do : with dinner from the freezer
Mend: a cardi with a loose button that I know I'll lose if I don't stitch it back on, they are particularly nice buttons as well
Minimise : I've already managed to shift a chair downstairs from the back bedroom to the conservatory so the decorator can start next week in there. I have removed all the picture hooks as well and put them in a small bag out of the way.
I also have yet another bag of stuff for the CS which I will take over tomorrow, as its a bit too cold to go out today and its very frosty underfoot, as I use a stick to walk I'm staying off the ice .
I don't think the public are up to seeing a little old lady doing a swan dive to the pavement just yetI certainly don't do 'Dancing on ice ' not and my age and state of joints.
Have a good day everyone and keep as warm as you can

haven't taken any meds to the local pharmacy for ages- so that's new news.
if anyone has sealed bandages and / or sealed dressings I know of a charity that will send these out to their vet clinic abroad. (They don't need to be in date but need to be sealed) Charity will refund your postage if required.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I take any meds for disposal to the hospital pharmacy at work - hope they don't get audited as paediatric patients don't get prescribed the most recent ones I took after a change in my prescription! 😂2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Advice needed.
I have a small sofa. Fabric label says pure new wool. I've discovered a small tear. Any hints on repairing please.8 -
This pic may help with suggestions.6

You could try darning it with matching darning wool. This would be stronger than trying to sew the edges together as effectively you are creating a new area of weaving. Another possibility would be to insert a small patch of iron on interfacing behind the hole or/and a piece of fabric to stitch down onto. A curved needle would help with this option.10

Thanks Moorviews. I'll shop around for thread. I have a curved needle somewhere in the depths of my sewing box.7

They also have some info in kintsugi repairs. https://www.nearlynewcashmere.co.uk/blogs/news/kin-tsugi-in-the-dales8

Minimise (as in binned):
1 pillow (very manky, not even tempted to wash it!)
1 cushion pad (ditto)
1 small torch (broken, cannot be mended)
Minimise (on CS pile):
2 plastic hairbands (washed and disinfected)
1 hair claw (ditto)
1 unused fabric mushroom bag (unwanted gift)
1 burger press (not used)
2 pairs of reading glasses, no longer suitable for my eyesight (my optician doesn't take these but Oxfam does)
Make Do:
Part bottle of shower gel diluted to use as hand wash in the kitchen
Had last banana mashed on toast with a sprinkle of cinnamon for breakfast
Mend (i.e. re-Purposed):
Two old but clean mattress protectors cut up to make pillow protectors; now on mending pile
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
