Pay query - taken student loan payment when annual salary very low

Hi. Have had a look online but cannot seem to find out the answer to this question. Daughter is doing an apprenticeship after leaving UNI. Her employer has decided to up the salary from under £10K to £16k which is very nice of them and also backdate the payrise to January. As a result, she has ended up with a lump sum of back pay which when you pro rata for the year, would equate to a salary well over the £27k which she can earn before having to pay any SL. By the end of the apprenticeship, she will not be anywhere near the £27k. Will she get this back?

I had a month where I had to pay extra for SL. Didn't get it back just went towards paying it off. (Years ago now)

They take a % of earnings not a % over pay year as far as I know. So if she got a bonus the same thing would happen

I've just managed to answer my own question via the HMRC website. Will get her to claim it back in April 2024.

That happened to my daughter and she just contacted the SLC and asked for it back. They paid it back within a few weeks.
