If your references to the credit card statement and the bank statement signify two separate documents, why would something appearing on the former feed through to the latter, rather than just a total to pay it off?

As per the reply from eskbanker - did you pay for the "naughty" things on your credit card?  If so, they will be detailed on your credit card statement, which you will need to hide from your girlfriend.  But if she looks at your bank statement, all she will see is a single payment to your credit card company (assuming we're talking about a standard scenario where you simply pay your credit card bill each month from your bank account).
As a slight aside - if the "naughty" things were gambling, be prepared for your credit card company to clobber you with cash advance fees and interest.  Gambling is usually classed as a cash advance.  In the UK you're not allowed to gamble on credit, but you can in a lot of the US states.

I'm not sure why someone else is looking at your bank/banking statements anyway.

But also, don't you think it's really sad that you are hiding things from your girlfriend? Or is that just me?

This also poses another question - what is your girlfriend hiding from you?

Don't be a wally. Just be honest. Hiding things from partners is a death knell to relationships. In my own experience.

Have you looked at how the "naughty" things appear in your credit card app?
If you're referring to certain kinds of dancing establishments, then in the UK they usually operate under different names from what's above the door, making then sound like regular pubs in your list of transactions.

It's his partner, in a relationship both parties should be involved in the household finances not just 1 of them.
