Online shoppers at Morrisons will now see a 5% holding "deposit" taken on top of their total bill to help cover the cost of substitutions, the supermarket has said. So ensure you have the extra money in your account to place an order and bear in mind you can't access this cash until your final bill clears.

Morrisons doesn't have much organic food now, so I won't be doing an online order in future.
Think thy have a nerve taking a deposit, to cover the cost of subs caused by their poor sttock conrol.

They really should have a 'No Substitutions' button in my opinion.

So, they can substitute a product and charge you 5% more.Riiiiiight...0

I very rarely use Morrison but did a week ago and every substitution was replaced with something costing substantially more so I rejected them all and let their CS know my thoughts on the matter.1

Do Morrisons not price match their substitutions? Not used since lockdown, but I guess not, which removes any incentive for "The management" to improve stock levels, in fact the reverse if it increases incomeI like some of the surprise subs from other s/ms at same price, always a gamble but with option to reject it's not hardEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1 -
No, they don't price match and that's why they are bringing in this 5% rule. Based on the 6 subs (which in itself is poor compared to my experience with Waitrose and Iceland) the subs were either all substantially more or in the case of the bread a 400gm loaf replaced the 800gm ordered ending up being charged about 14p less for half the product. A bottle of own brand Morrisons salad cream costing about 85p was subbed with a £2.90 Heinz salad cream. A lot of the fresh items were short date as well. Not impressed at all TBH.3
