Hi there,good luck with everything!
I have just joined the forum after reading diaries for a year or two.
I use Vinted,it can be a bit hit and miss and things need to be priced quite low but it’s easy to use and I often buy great things on their too for brilliant prices although I’m meant to be stopping that….😂2 -
Thanks for the feedback on Vinted @Amber1980!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Just checking in to keep myself accountable!
Weekend was a bit spendy but all needed and not frittered! It looks like a friend won't be moving in at the end of Feb - it was only going to be a short pit stop between properties. Very exciting for her to get on the property ladder sooner than anticipated, although the rent would have been handy. However, it does mean she is now on a money saving/ penny grabbing mission - so I feel like I have someone in real life to motivate me! We have planned to do a car boot together in March and we were going to enter a running event in April (she is not a runner) but instead we're going to do the run the day before the event so she has a date to work to but without the expense! (I also sorted through my exercise clothes at the weekend and have a STACK of t-shirts from past events which I don't know what to do with!)
I did manage to complete two crochet projects at the weekend - so that's two February birthdays ticked off. Although one turned out quite little so I might make another and gift a pair. I have everything in stash so it wouldn't cost anything and it was very quick to make. I have a pattern in mind for another gift but I need to check my pattern books to see if I have something else I'd rather make - the potential pattern is free, and again will plan to make something which I have everything for so either option won't cost me.
I am getting very close to zero pennies in my account now with a week until pay day! I will need to buy food and petrol before then and I have two choices - use my CC or use money in the "bills" account. All bills have been taken but I leave £100 buffer in there in case a bill is more than expected - I look at it as £100 is equivalent to zero if that makes sense. Now I'm pretty sure people would tell me to use the buffer and it is silly to use the CC - but as I am on a mission I would instantly clear the CC and worried I wouldn't replace the buffer. Although surely if I'm really on a mission I would top it back up!?

Well this weekend I have made a flamingo, finished a hedgehog and slowly working on a pair of socks! Planning on making another flamingo though as it's very little and then next up is possibly a pterodactyl! What hat pattern are you making? I just made one by Nomad stitches which was good if you want a plain hat!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

This is the one. Just a straight forward one... I'm a little new to it at the moment!

Oh that looks good @bigbeff!
So I decided to use the CC and not my buffer (or the money I have set aside for some plumbing works). The reason is that I always "magic" money from somewhere when things get short - so as much as I'm not trying to guilt trip my OH, equally he really needs to see that there is a limit to my money! If I always save the day (which I appreciate I kind of am by putting it on my CC) then it doesn't help encourage him to be financially savvy.
On my way home tonight I am going to put LPG in my car - wish me luck as last time (which was the first time) I ended up wanting to give up as was unsuccessful it getting the gas to actual turn on but then realised the hose was stuck in my car!!! Fortunately a kind man helped me although as he was also winging it, he couldn't tell me how he got it going! However it is much cheaper than petrol but with roughly the same MPG (I have a dual fuel car so can use either).Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Just checking in before the weekend! Don't have any plans this weekend so should be frugal. Main thing will be finishing a number of crochet projects which are at the final stages and I've been too tired in the evenings this week to tackle those parts.
Speaking of tired - I was really tired when I got home from work the other day and didn't have anything for dinner that night as I had planned to go food shopping. Old me definitely would have got a takeaway! New me walked the dog to the shop to buy the bits I needed for dinner that night - I was proud of myself!!! I then did the food plan/ shopping list the following evening.
Pay day on Monday so just need to make it through the weekend and then I can pay some more off my debts, which will be very a good feeling!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
