On the back of some of the do-it-yourself tips on this board and elsewhere in the Forum, we've published a blog post:
70(ish) ways to ‘DIY it’ according to the MSE Forum
(It was originally '50 ways' but we've added lots more tips since its first iteration.) Many of the posts we reference go back years, but are still relevant.
If any of these are your tips. thank you!

Found a great source book in my fave charity shop. Called "Extraordinary uses for ordinary things " by Readers Digest. Has over 2000 ways to use common household stuff that you may have lying about instead of rushing off to the shop to buy more stuff. E.g 51 uses for aluminium foil apart from covering the Sunday joint or 171 uses for vinegar apart from on your chips5
