I don’t know where the chap was from he was as much use as a chocolate fireguard though 😂
  • That’s amazing! Well done both. Can I read a court report??
I can summarise the facts of case 1.
Lady arrived at Gresley Lane Car park at 11:51 on 30/5/2022 and was recorded on the ANPR picture shown on her Notice to Keeper.
Lady bought a ticket at 11:53. The time is printed on her ticket which she managed to obtain by pressing the green button a further time. Of course it never recorded the VRM on any of these tickets until June 11.
When she received the PCN saying she had not paid for her vehicle she appealed showing this copy of her ticket as proof.
Excel refused her appeal saying there was no record of her VRM SD67KAK but suggested that she must have mis-keyed her VRM as NJ66JAY. The problem with that theory was that the NJ66JAY ticket was bought 1 minute later.
When you look at the evidence of all the purchases made for Gresley Lane (code 373A) there is no purchase made at 11:53. That leaves us with 2 possibilities:
1 – the machines failed to upload occasional records of tickets bought.
    or
2 – the machine has lost some of the characters keyed in, so Excel has wiped the record from their system.

Either way, Excel has pursued an innocent victim of their parking scam because they thought they could get away with it.

The hearing lasted just a couple of minutes before being dismissed - the (unknown) rep for Excel couldn't offer a reason for what had happened and claimed he had never known tickets be printed without a VRM on them.

    Neither have we!

Why is there a red line at the optimum point? Don't tell me that's a convenient page break?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There are a lot of "iffy" looking VRM's on that list: -

    1-Only 5 characters such as "F4A**" at 11.49am and "G3J**" at 11.55am
2-The 11.54am entry which apparently should read "NJ66JAY" is recorded as only 6 characters
    3-The 11.30am entry which starts either "522" or "S22"
    4-The 11.38am entry starting "D12"

I added that red line to show where the Lady's 11:53 record should have been.

Whilst it is possible that they are all genuine and correct, there does appear to be an unusually large number of non-standard VRMs there on that day. Perhaps there was a classic car rally going on nearby.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

Good call-since it was a Sunday; although, the "G3J**" paid until 22.55pm.
  • This is just the tip of the iceberg as there are many more claims to be heard.

If I was an immoral and unethical moron, I'd be happy with the money I've scammed out of people under duress. Why would they bring so many clearly unwinable cases to court?
