Hello there forumites,

I've written a new guide with 12 tips on how to save money on music streaming service Spotify. Quite cunningly I've called it:

     12 Spotify MoneySaving Tips

Clever, eh? I'd love your feedback on the guide. What did you find useful? Is there anything that doesn't seem accurate? Do you have any tips of your own I should add?

Thanks as ever for your help, and for using MoneySavingExpert :)

  • I think this new guide you have created is very helpful and useful to those who want to know more about what Spotify can offer to them. Not many people know the different ways they can use Spotify and the different plans they provide.

I think you have done an incredible job and I enjoyed reading this and learning more about what I can get from my Spotify account.
  • I was about to rejoin Spotify a few days ago but had trouble getting the student plan to work.

For those who can verify themselves through Unidays (ie have an academic email)...

Apple Music is currently offering 6 months free then £4.99 / month. This also comes with Apple TV+ bundled in.

The app works ok on my Android phone. There are some interesting benefits (lossless audio etc) and I've just binged the first season of Ted Lasso.

I know it's not available to everyone but if you qualify it's very good value

Used to subscribe to Spotify Premium? You could get three months' free Spotify Premium Individual if you go back. To qualify, you must have cancelled your previous subscription on or before 26 April 2021. Resubscribe via Spotify's website.

I tried this a few days ago but the link takes you to a page which says:
Ends soon: 3 months of Premium for £9.99
Is that the same for everyone?

  • My own little tip: my partner and I pay for a Premium account (£9.99 per month) which we share. But there are times where we both want to listen to our own playlists with the one account - not possible right? Wrong! We simply make sure our playlists are ‘downloaded’ and one of us puts our mobile phone on aeroplane mode. Thus appearing offline and you can still listen to your playlist whilst the other is online and listening to theirs. Saves a mere £4 per month for the once or twice a week when we clash and are both wanting to use it.
We’re both usually at work so can get hold of each other in other ways but it’s quite nice having the phone on aeroplane mode I must say!
    Hope this helps 😊
  • Very helpful guide.
