Will last year's Xmas stuffing be OK?

I've found a container of last Xmas's homemade stuffing in the freezer and was wondering if it's likely to be OK. Apart from breadcrumbs, some sort of dried fruit and maybe hazelnuts I've no idea what went into it and I can't check as I've no idea where I got the recipe from!

What do you think?

Now Pink-winged is going to fall off her chair when she reads this, so I hope it's a soft landing;)

I wouldn't use this stuffing. Not necessarily because it will be *off* but because domestic freezers aren't like commercial ones and I think the quality will have suffered. Christmas lunch is such a special meal I'd hate to risk it for the sake of the stuffing. And I do think it relevant that you can't be sure of all the ingredients:D

Thanks Churchmouse, you've made a good point there. It's only quite a small container (chinese take-away rice size and I don't think it's full), so I won't be wasting alot if it goes in the bin. It's a shame as it was rather good, but unfortunately it's kept slipping to the bottom of my chest freezer and has been overlooked.

Defrost it one Sunday to have with lunch and see what it's like, I wouldn't risk it on Christmas day either but if it is ok (freezer might have dried it up a bit, that's about all really if it's stayed frozen) would be a shame to waste, sounds lovely.
One day I might be more organised...........

I would use it...but as Churchmouse and lil_me say, not on Christmas day. The reason I say this is we had some stuffing that was left over from Christmas dinner last year on Monday with a chicken. I defrosted it thoroughly in the fridge and then heated to piping hot in the microwave. It was a bit drier than it was originally, but a good dousing with gravy sorted that out and we're all still here to tell the tale.

Now funnily enough, just as I was climbing into bed last night I thought the same as lil-me and Pink-winged:D :D No need to bin the stuffing, thaw it and if it smells OK just use it for another meal. Pipped at the post again. Hope the landing wasn't too painful Pink;) :rotfl:
