Tesco's home delivery refund

Hi,
Hope this is the right place for this as I had no idea what board to put it on.
My shopping arrived from tesco's this morning but with some stuff missing (including toilet roll - - the one thing no one wants to run out of). I filled in the form to say it hadn't arrived and they said they would refund me. The problemis they're only refunding the cost of the loo roll. I'm sure last time something didn't turn up (about 2 months ago) they also refunded the cost of delivery as an apology. Obviously with delivery being £4.99 I'd appreciate back if there'sany chance that they'll give it.
Does anyone else have any experiance of this?

Why not call them or write to them explaining how disappointed and let-down you are and how you won't use them again, etc etc and you should find yourself with a refund or some vouchers!2p off is still 2p off!0

Thanks, I emailed them explaining that I was disapointed and didn't feel they had provided the service I'd paid for and they have replied saying that they will refund the delivery charge.
So if anyone else has problems with their tesco delivery, I suggest you mention wanting the service charge refunded as it certainly makes it more likely that you'll get it back.0 -
Last time I went on holiday, we arrived back late on a Saturday afternoon. I thought I was being really clever ordering shopping from Tesco before I went away and having it delivered on the Sat evening.
When it arrived, they'd put some of my fresh stuff in the freezer compartment, and I ended up with frozen milk, frozen fruit juice and frozen cooked meats.
I complained, especially as I was desperate for a cuppa and my milk was frozen! They refunded the cost of the milk, juice and cooked meats and the delivery charge.
The food was edible too once it had defrosted
Here I go again on my own....0 -
They are sods and I refuse to use them.
Booked for 10pm one evening - when baby was a baby cos then she was always asleep at that time. Ordered all my baby milk, nappies and stuff etc as well.
10pm No delivery, 10.30 - no delivery I called them - "It will be with you soon"
11pm no delivery and thats the time of night that they all go home. "It will be with you by 8am" was the last call I made.
No it wasn't.
Another phone call to them at 8.15, and after the "manager" had explained to me that they could not send my delivery out today, because it would delay the days customers.
"What about me? I've been very delayed?"
"Sorry"
"I need my shopping 6wk old baby needs food"
"I can deliver in 2 days"
"I want in within the hour please"
"I cannot make the deliveries late for our other customers, it would upset them and its not fair to them"
"And me? I am an upset customer too"
And I got nothing. He barely apologised and I have refused to use their home shopping service ever since and it is the ONLY thing I would tell people to steer clear off.0 -
Well I can only say the opposite to the above post that is I think the Tesco on line shopping is brilliant. I use it once a month for my regular and bulky/heavy shopping (why trail round the shop to put it into the trolley, out onto the till, back into the trolley, out into car etc.
There are three regular drivers who deliver to me depending on day and time and when they were running outside the delivery slot once the store rang me to tell me. If on occasion I have ever had something missing I call and they refund and a couple of times I have had things I didnt order or too many of what I did. I ring and tell them and they always say 'thanks and have it with our compliments. I think at least when someone asks where their missing things are they will know.
I am not tempted to put things in the trolley and so feel I save the delivery cost each time but thanks to this site I have used 'coupons' to save at least as much as delivery for most of the last year. So thanks to the people who posted those and thanks to Tesco!0 -
I've always been happy with the tesco's service. I don't have a car so my only alternative is to walk for half an hour into town do the shopping at the tiny Safeways (the only supermarket actually IN town, rather than a drive away) and struggle back with it on the bus.
Whenever Tesco's charge me for something and it doesn't arrive, they always refund me. The only reason I posted the original question was because I thought that last time there had been a problem they had also refunded the delivery charge (if they hadn't done it that time, I wouldn't have thought of it now).0 -
When products were missing from my delivery I phoned them in and made it clear they will have to refund the chrage of the delivery. Because otherwise most of the time it is a case where they just refund you for whatever is missing is that it.0
