Sainsbury's website mentions that some eggs may be contaminated with salmonella

Always has been the case. If you boil/poach/fry or use it in an ingredient that gets cooked/baked, an egg it is quite safe, if you however eat the egg raw or an uncooked recipe like a chocolate mousse then yes, they are risky.
You can pasteurise your own eggs that you would eat uncooked - put your eggs in cold water in a saucepan and heat until the water gets to 140 farenheit and keep the temperature for just under 4 minutes. That will kill the bugs in the eggs. The temperature is critical, under 136 farenheit and you're wasting your time, 142 degrees and you end up cooking the eggs.

All eggs can contain salmonella, I think the guess is about 1 in 1000 of eggs have it; remember when Edwina Curry made that fact public in the 80's? (she got slammed for it but she was right). As mentioned, cook your eggs so the egg white is firm and you have nothing to worry about.0
