We have a bottle of Sainsbury's Mulled Wine that got left over from last year -put it away assuming that it would be fine, but I've just looked at it and it says "It is recommended that this product be used within 3 months of purchase"!!!!
It's 10% so I thought the alcohol content would keep it okay? Really not sure though, does anyone know if it is likely to have gone off?? Or would it be okay for cooking with?
I've never drunk mulled wine before so I'm not even sure how it's supposed to taste!

I've kept mulled wine for a year before now and it was fine. If it tastes OK then it's all right. If it doesn't, then dump it. If it's off then it really will be yukky - even if you've never tasted it before you'll know!If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0

Make your own, it's really easy
½ pint water
4 oz. Sugar
4 cloves
2 inch stick cinnamon
2 lemons
1 bottle red wine , nothing special
1 orange
Boil water, sugar and spices together. Add the lemons, stir and leave to stand for 10 minutes. Pour back into the saucepan and add red wine. Heat but do not boil. Strain the wine into a bowl and serve hot, decorated with orange and lemon slices. Makes about 1 ½ pints
