21 SECONDS TO KNOW ONLINE COMPETITION: TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Who can enter and entry requirements:

The 21 Seconds to Know competitions (“Competitions”) are “token only” competitions as described in clause 2.6.3 of ITV's General Competition, Prize Draw, Vote and Poll Terms and Conditions (available here). You can find out more about “token only” competitions here.

To enter these Competitions you will need to have sufficient bonus tokens to redeem for an entry. The number of tokens required for an entry is as advertised in the interaction information. You can check how many bonus tokens you currently have by logging on to www.itv.com/win (“Website”) and clicking on “My Tokens”.

The Competitions are open to UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man residents aged 18 years or over only (excluding employees of the Promoter, their immediate families, and anyone else professionally connected with the Competitions) who have sufficient bonus tokens to redeem for an entry.

Opening/closing date & time:

The Competitions comprise one (1) daily quiz (“Daily Quiz”) and one (1) weekly live quiz (“Live Quiz”) as follows:

The Daily Quiz may be made available on multiple occasions from Monday to Sunday at the complete discretion of the Promoter.

The Daily Quiz opens for entries online via the Website on Monday 29 June 2020 and closes on the same day at the time as advertised on the Website. Each subsequent Daily Quiz will open and close for entries on the dates and at the times advertised on the Website.

The Live Quiz will be made available on Fridays at the complete discretion of the Promoter.

The Live Quiz opens for entries online via the Website on Friday 3 July 2020 at the time advertised on the Website and closes on the same day once all the answers have been completed. Each subsequent Live Quiz will open and close for entries on the dates and at the times advertised on the Website.

How to enter:

To enter each Competition, visit the ‘My Tokens’ section of the Website and follow the instructions. In order to enter the Competition you will need to log on to the Website and redeem the number of tokens advertised in the interaction information in exchange for an entry.

Maximum one (1) entry per phone number per Competition.

To enter each Competition, click the ‘Play Now’ button on the ‘My Tokens’ section of the Website and follow the instructions. Once you have confirmed that you are 18+ and agree to the terms and conditions, you will be invited to create a profile and an avatar. Please note that your username, postcode and date of birth are optional fields.

For the Daily Quiz, you will then enter the ‘Lobby’ area within which the ‘Let’s Play’ button (“Button”) will be available. By clicking the Button, you will redeem your bonus tokens in exchange for one (1) entry into the Daily Quiz. Once you have redeemed your tokens they are non-returnable.

For the Live Quiz, you will need to enter the ‘Lobby’ area within the 30 minutes prior to the start time of the quiz (“Start Time”), where a countdown clock will begin. Once the countdown clock reaches zero, you will be automatically presented a ‘compatibility page’ to ensure that you can see and hear the video that appears on your screen (“Test”). Once you have confirmed the Test, the Button will become available. By clicking the Button, you will redeem your bonus tokens in exchange for one (1) entry into the Live Quiz. Once you have redeemed your tokens they are non-returnable. You will have one (1) minute to complete the Test and click the Button. If you are unable to play the video or you watch the video but do not click the Button, you will not be able to play the Live Quiz.

Each Competition has two stages:

Stage 1: Question Round

You will have twenty-one (21) seconds (“Time Limit”) to answer ten (10) quiz questions correctly. When you are ready to start your entry, click the Button. Please note that you must answer a question correctly to move on to the next question. If you submit an incorrect answer, you will be ‘zoned out’ for two (2) seconds before being given another opportunity to submit a correct answer. If you answer the ten (10) questions correctly within the Time Limit, you will proceed to Stage 2.

If you run out of time during the quiz, your quiz will be over, you will not be able to see or answer any further questions and you will not proceed to Stage 2.

Stage 2: Leaderboard and the Top 21

If you answer the ten (10) questions correctly within the Time Limit, your final registered time (taken at 3 decimal places of a second) (“Time”) will be entered onto a leaderboard (“Leaderboard”) which will be available shortly after the Competition closes. Where any technical issues occur, the Leaderboard results will be revealed as soon as it is technically possible.

Subject to eligibility and compliance with all applicable terms and conditions, the top twenty-one (21) fastest entrants on the Leaderboard will win a share of a Cash Prize (detailed below) based on their ranking position on the Leaderboard (“Winners”).

If two (2) or more Winners have the same final Time, they will be deemed to be tied. In the event of a tie, the Cash Prizes will be combined and split equally between such Winners. For the avoidance of doubt, this means that if there is a tie between two (2) Winners for the 10th place on the Leaderboard, the Cash Prizes for 10th and 11th places will be combined and split between these two (2) Winners. Where the combined cash prize contains pence, the total amount will be rounded up to the nearest pound. Where there is a tie for the 21st place on the Leaderboard, each tied entrant will be awarded the whole amount of the 21st place Cash Prize.

Where an entrant has been entered onto the Leaderboard but is not a Winner, they may be awarded Bonus Token(s) (described below) at the absolute discretion of the Promoter.

If no eligible entries are made for the Competition by the close date and time, no Prizes will be awarded to any entrant.

Please note that for each Competition:

• once you click the Button you cannot cancel or pause your Competition entry;

• you should ensure that you have an adequate internet connection before entering the Competition. If you lose your internet connection, close or refresh your browser, or click ‘Back’ between starting the Competition and submitting your answers to the questions, you will not be entered into the Competition, you will not be able to start your entry again and you will lose your tokens;

• data charges may apply (check with your internet service provider or mobile network); and

• for the Daily Quiz, the questions are randomly selected from a pool with the same level of difficulty.

Prizes:

All Prizes will be as described in the interaction information on the Website. Prizes will vary weekly and will be allocated to the Winners as described in Stage 2 above. You will not have the right to choose your Prize.

The Prize may be one (1) of the following:

a) Cash Prizes ranging from £1 (one pound) to £250 (two hundred and fifty pounds) broken down as set out below; or

b) Bonus Token(s)

From time to time, the Promoter may at its sole discretion, award additional prizes based on unspecified criteria.

a) Cash Prizes

You will have twenty-eight (28) days from the day that you won to redeem your prize. If you have not redeemed your prize within twenty-eight (28) days of winning, the prize will be forfeited.

To claim any Cash Prize, go to the ‘Profile’ link at the top of the Website and click ‘Cash Prize’. You can then redeem the Cash Prize in the following ways:

1. Transfer to your Paypal account: ITV will pay the Cash Prize into your Paypal account. To do this, choose the PayPal option and follow the simple steps. You can use a pre-existing PayPal account or create a new one. The Cash Prize balance in your itv.com/win account (“Account”) will be set to zero and the money will appear in your PayPal account within forty-eight (48) hours. For further information please go to https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-receive-money-with-my-paypal-account-faq1664.

2. Convert the Cash Prize into Entry Credits: you will be able to convert your Cash Prize to Entry Credits when you claim your prize. You may choose from three (3) conversion options: (i) convert £2 for one (1) Entry Credit; (ii) convert £5 for three (3) Entry Credits; or (iii) convert £10 for seven (7) Entry Credits. You will not be able to convert your Cash Prize to Entry Credits if you already have ten (10) or more Entry Credits in your Account. Your Entry Credits will be the default method for payment when entering into any online paid competition on the Website. If you want, you can split your Cash Prize between cash and Entry Credit(s). To do this, you must first convert your Cash Prize into Entry Credit(s), using one of the three (3) conversion methods described above, up to a maximum value of ten pounds (£10). Any remaining Cash Prize sum will then need to be withdrawn using a Paypal account or via Post Office option below.

3. Claim at local Post Office: you can pick up your Cash Prize from your local Post Office. To do this, choose the ‘Claim at Local Post Office’ option and follow the simple steps. You will receive a text message with a unique reference code (“Barcode”) within two working days from claiming. Go to any UK Post Office and present the Barcode to receive your prize. The Barcode will expire ninety (90) days after receiving it (“Expiry Date”). If you do not redeem your Barcode before the Expiry Date, the Cash Prize will be forfeited and you will not be able to redeem your Cash Prize. The Cash Prize balance in your ITV Win Account will be set to zero as soon as this option is selected.

b) Bonus Token(s)

The first daily £250 quiz ended at 4pm today - not sure when it started, but it was definitely open for at least a few hours.

The next daily £250 quiz opens tomorrow at 9am - not sure when it closes.

Not sure if all the daily draws are open 9am to 4pm or if the times vary each day?

T&Cs say "available on multiple occasions from Monday to Sunday"

The time given for today's top prize winner is 18.26s (that's how much time they had left out of 21 seconds) so that's less than 3 seconds in total to answer all 10 questions! The time given for the 21st place winner is 14.44s, so less than 7 seconds to answer and anyone taking longer than that won't have won any money (although you can win tokens instead) even though they got all 10 questions correct, so be prepared to answer very quickly!

I think the first quiz you take part in is free to enter, but subsequent quizzes then cost tokens to enter, so if you entered today, then to enter tomorrow will cost you 5 tokens (but tomorrow might be free if you didn't enter today). I'm not sure if every quiz after that will be 5 tokens or if others (especially Friday's live £1000) might cost more tokens?
