Definition of 'Basic' State Pension

In a recent article we are advised to check a wife's State Pension, to see if it's less the 60% of the husband's "Basic".
I assume that basic means strictly the initial figure excluding any additional State Pension (i.e. SERPS)?
Many thanks
Dave

Basic state pension is indeed just that - the amount payable excluding any State Additional Pension (SERPS or State Second Pension).0

My understanding (which could be wrong) is that 'basic' state pension refers to the standard amount paid to people who reached SPA under the old scheme (i.e. prior to 6/4/2016) - currently £134.25 a week
